This is an official SellFable City Relic, catalogued and approved by the SFC Archivist. SellFable City is a machine city, that thrives on the electricity of its inhabitants. Like an ink stain, it slowly but steadily creeps into our world. Evidence of its existence has appeared around the globe, in the shape of murals, installations and so called illuminated Machine Relic Boxes. Activities have been recorded in cities such as New York, Berlin, Cologne, Amsterdam, and Rotterdam. This relic contains an illuminated engraving of a Conjoiner Bug. These creatures’ purpose is to join systems together. A hazardous task in SellFable City, because systems don’t always want to be coupled. When information streams go viral, the infected bugs inflict damage to machines and workers. There are signs that in SellFable City this happens often on small and large scales. There is absolutely no way to predict what might happen if these system bugs slip into our world.

These are texts that have been found accompanying the item. They have been translated from the city’s hexadecimal machine language to readable text for the human viewer:

I was born in a factory

A construct of wire and time

My name my name

From noise and noise it came

Machine howl, two three

Engine whine, four it was mine
